I'm going to start blogging more. I miss it! I really enjoy keeping track of everything I do. So I'm going to make a vow to blog 3-4 times a month, if not more. Wish me luck!
Joe and I aren't huge dessert people but the East Village is filled with dessert bars so we have been randomly checking them out. Dessert bars are places that ONLY serve dessert, so if you're looking for a grilled cheese your in the wrong spot.
Venerio's- If you are an avid reader you know that Joe is italian so one of the first things we did when we moved was check out the Italian pastry shop. Venerios is over 100 years old and specializes in cannolis, millefoligie, baba rum and cheesecake. They also have homemade gelato! Great place to get pastries to-go or hang out for an hour sitting in the cafe indulging yourself.
Spot - This is a new place on St. Marks (aka 8th street) that only serves desserts. They are fancy desserts with olive oil cake and mascarpone filling. Spot has a deal where you can buy three desserts for $21 (each dessert is priced individually at $10). They taste great but a lot to eat for just two people. This is a fun place when you have an hour to chill with a friend. See picture below
De Robertis Pasticceria - This place doesn't have a cafe but has amazing pastries to take on the go. I get cookies and cannolis for work functions and people go nuts over them. Good place to check out if you need a little something sweet.
Enjoy!

I recommend both Venerios and Spot too! Spot is a good place if you want to try some more interesting combinations.
