Many would agree that most things are always better with cheese. Think apples with brie, tomatos with mozzarella, steak with blue cheese, and my favorite meal as a kid - white fish with Velveeta cheese sauce (I know it sounds kinda gross but I really loved it growing up, I even picked it as my birthday dinner five years straight!).
One of my new favorite shows is 'The Best Ever' on the food channel which had an episode highlighting 'The Best' of cheese dishes. One of them was a gruyere grilled cheese on sour dough bread from E.A.T. Joe and I decided to check this place out for our one year anniversary! Yay! This grilled cheese is $14 and paired with a tomato tuscan peasant soup makes it one of the best meals I have ever had. The bread and cheese literally melts in your mouth with each bite, and then dipped in the soup gives it a fantastic salty, savory flavor. This was a perfect place for us to celebrate our one year. Too many more grilled cheeses and anniversaries!
The next place highlighted in the episode was a fondue place called Artisanal. Luckily I knew I had friends from Cincinnati visiting who all love cheese. Michelle in particular will only eat something if there is cheese on it...she gave me the opening liner to this blog post. So I knew right away that this would be the perfect place to take them. And boy was I right! Look in the picture below of that perfect pot of cheese! The two flavors we had were the Artisanal Blend and the 10,000 Cheese with Bacon & chive, we all loved it so much that it was gone in about 10 minutes. My favorite sides to dip in the cheese were kielbasa and green apples. Having my Cincinnati friends in town (Michelle, Katie and Emma) was an absolute blast and we ended a perfect meal karokeing in Koreatown. Classic New York City night!

Great Post!!!! Cheese does make everything better. Had so much fun with you. Can't wait to come back!

You should take Joe there. Nothing says "I love you" better than cheese fondue.
